Introducing EleganceWorks: Do Business with Elegance

Business software is supposed to be awful and is guaranteed to be time-consuming, irritating and even costly. But we have been conditioned to accept it. We are changing all that with EleganceWorks.
Introducing EleganceWorks: Do Business with Elegance

Circa early 2024

Jonathan was a sales director for a big retail organization in Ohio, US. He had achieved most of what every person his age wanted to achieveā€”a big house, a good family, great kids, and a remarkable career. Jonathan contributed to a charity every month that cares for children with cancer. He had a pet dog that was like a part of the family, and he took his pet along with his family on vacations. Everything was good.

One fine day, Jonathan's organization did the unthinkable and laid him off. His life turned upside down, and within a few months, it became unbearable. He was looking for new opportunities that never materialized, and he had to start a small business that would help him pay his bills. Jonathan had become a small business owner by choice and circumstance.

Little did Jonathan know that running a small business comes with much baggage he needed to prepare for. He was sure his sales skills could help him run a successful business. Jonathan wanted to set up the right processes and software for his small team and business operations. Having been in sales, he knew that CRM would be of utmost importance in tracking and generating opportunities for his newly created RFID reselling business. For Jonathan, things started going downhill from there. He had to purchase a dozen software as a service product to keep his newly assembled team running smoothly. Immediately, he went down the rabbit hole of learning each product, integrating all of them and creating a viable process around his business. The process was too much for him, and he even considered closing down his business out of frustration because the overhead was too much.

I spoke to Jonathan during this intense period of his life and gave him some pointers on what will work and what needs to be changed. I felt all the pain he had to endure because I had been in the same situation a decade ago when I started my first business. A decade ago, this was even tougher because the tools were not available then, and I had to let go of my perfectionism and use sub-standard alternatives.

While talking to Jonathan, I thought that in 2024, this doesn't have to be this tough. Unfortunately, even though our technology has developed exponentially, it is still challenging for a business owner to get software according to their wishes.

During this discussion with Jonathan, I decided that software must work for humans rather than humans working to get the software right. The word "Elegance" reflected what I imagined software should be capable of. Thus, EleganceWorks was born - a software platform that makes it easy for businesses to do their work without much ado. We developed this platform in the last few months to solve issues for business owners who want to avoid software products getting in the way of running their operations. We believe that we are currently there, and though there's a lot more to do, we are on the right path towards our vision: "Software must be invisible to the end user".

We welcome you to EleganceWorks.
